Kenneth Mason. Born on Hilton head, Kenneth started playing piano at the age of 7. Kenneth didn’t pickup bass until the age of 12 when he heard Victor Wootens album “Soul Circus”. It was all funk and games until Kenneth came to realize his passion for jazz at the Hilton head Jazz Camp and started working more on modern/fusion and straight ahead jazz. After playing a lot of jazz Kenneth came to the realization that he would need to learn to play upright bass. Some of Kenneth’s musical influences are Victor Wooten, Ron Carter, Christian McBride, thunder cat, Delbert Felix, Lee Sung Chan and Ray Brown.
